Description
The 10kV oil-immersed, fully sealed distribution transformer with integrated high-voltage protection consists of several key components: a backup current-limiting fuse, a dual-factor (current and temperature) magnetically latched interrupter, and the transformer core assembly. This design implements a two-stage protection scheme for transformer overloads and faults, over-temperature protection, a low-oil-level lockout function for switching operations, and the capability to interrupt and close on load currents. It effectively resolves the issues—stemming from external environmental conditions and human factors—associated with the traditional protection method used in standard pole-mounted distribution transformers, which relies on externally mounted drop-out fuses on the high-voltage side and circuit breakers on the low-voltage side. The company’s first unit of this transformer model was installed at the Beijing Daxing Power Supply Company in June 2016 and has been operating successfully.
